KITECAMP BRASIL

Kitesurfing Camp to Brazil is a must for any kitesurfing enthusiast. If you already know how to kitesurf, can ride both ways, and can go upwind, then this trip is just for you.

There are many reasons WHY TO GO TO BRASIL: reliable and steady wind, flat and warm water, and an unparalleled atmosphere! On this trip, we will visit four different spots, organize many excursions and downwinders, allowing you to ride in a variety of conditions! Together, we will explore Brazil and the conditions it offers.

WIND IN BRASIL

In the northern region of Brazil, wind statistics for November show almost 100% of days with wind. Typically, the wind blows at a strength of 18-30 knots. It usually starts to strengthen around 11:00 AM and maintains its strength until evening, providing excellent conditions for kitesurfing until sunset at 6:30 PM.

The predominant wind direction is ideal, side-onshore. Additionally, the air temperature ranges between 25 and 35°C, and the water temperature stays around 27°C, allowing for kitesurfing without wetsuits. There are various spots available, enabling kitesurfing on both flat water in lagoons and river deltas, as well as on small ocean waves.

These are ideal conditions for kitesurfers of all skill levels. The spots we visit will satisfy both beginners seeking stable wind and flat water, as well as more experienced kitesurfers.

CUMBUCO, CAUIPE, TAIBA

Upon arriving in Cumbuco, you’ll discover a true paradise for water sports enthusiasts, especially windsurfing and kitesurfing. This place is renowned for its excellent conditions for learning and practicing these activities, thanks to the steady wind, beautiful waves, and safe coastline.

Laguna Cauipe, located just 15 km from the center, is an absolute must-see for kitesurfers, offering ideal conditions for performing freestyle tricks.

Taiba, also known as the “small village,” is a picturesque spot north of Fortaleza where the lagoon provides great conditions. The steady wind blowing from a safe southeastern direction and reaching speeds of 15 to 25 knots ensures excellent conditions for both beginner and advanced kitesurfers. Additionally, numerous small restaurants serve local dishes.

BARRA GRANDE, OCEAN I LAGUNY

Barra Grande is a charming fishing village right on the ocean, offering not only a unique atmosphere for kitesurfers but also atmospheric restaurants serving excellent food. It is also one of the best kitesurfing spots in Brazil!

With the right tide, sandbanks emerge, adding to the place’s unique charm. The spot is safe and offers plenty of space, so everyone can find their own place on the water. This is why Barra Grande is one of our favorite locations on the map of Brazil.

MACAPA

Praia do Macapá is a secluded beach that often remains overshadowed by the more popular Barra Grande. However, this hidden gem conceals true treasures, offering a dynamic landscape that changes with the tides. It’s like having multiple beaches in one location! With its ideal conditions for kitesurfing, Praia do Macapá is undeniably one of the most unique spots for the sport in the world. With regular winds from July/August to December/January, this beach becomes a kitesurfer’s paradise.

JERICOACOARA

Jericoacoara, often simply called Jeri, is a charming small town located about 300 km west of Fortaleza, right on the Atlantic Ocean. This area has been protected as a national park, so you won’t find concrete buildings or large hotels, colorful houses dominate, blending seamlessly with the natural surroundings.

Just a few decades ago, Jeri had no roads, electricity, phones, television, or newspapers, and money was scarce. Although the village now has access to electricity, and hot showers and air conditioning are no longer considered luxuries, Jericoacoara continues to be renowned primarily for its beautiful beaches and unspoiled nature. It is also a well-known destination for surfers, who are drawn here each year by the exceptional waves.
